News about continuing education from Yoga Alliance
As you grow as a yoga teacher, you explore your practice and seek the help and guidance of the yoga community. The Niyama of Svadhyaya encourages the practice of self-study. Svadhyaya is sometimes broken down into Sva (Self) and Adhyaya (Learning). Therefore continuing education is an important part of Svadhyaya. It allows you to further your growth and understanding, deepening your practice.
Yoga Alliance says: “We are all students of yoga. Regardless of how accomplished you are as a teacher, success should inspire continued learning and professional growth. Our Continuing Education (CE) Requirements encourage all Registered Yoga Teachers (RYT®s) to be forever learners”
And with this in mind, Yoga Alliance have introduced a new designation to help teachers get the best possible post-graduate learning in line with their standards. Just launched in July 2016, it’s called the Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider. We were delighted to be invited to become one of their official providers.
This is what Yoga Alliance says about the new designation: “A YACEP is an individual instructor that has been verified as being highly qualified in the category or categories that they teach.”
Our principal trainer, Amanda Edlin, was privileged to be invited to provide this service. Maintaining the high standards of yoga teaching and training is something we’re passionate about at Waking MindsYoga. Therefore, receiving such recognition from Yoga Alliance provides an additional stamp of quality for our training.
Yoga Alliance says: “Registered Yoga Teachers (RYT®s) who take courses with a YACEP can trust that their training counts toward meeting their Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Requirements.”
As a result, all suitable short courses and workshops on our website, will now display the new logo from Yoga Alliance. As a Yoga teacher registered on such a course you will receive a certificate of continuing education from us. The certifcate will display the Yoga Alliance YACEP logo and the numbers of hours that qualify as continuing education. Please do contact us if you’d like further information on any of our short courses or workshops.
