Mindfulness and Meditation Practitioner Course

Our mindfulness and meditation practitioner course is designed for both those who are new to the practices and for those who have some experience.  All are welcome, not just yoga teachers.

You will spend 2 days being gently guided through various mindfulness and meditation practices.  These may include working with the breath, sound, visualisations, body scan (yoga nidra), mindful movement and meta as a few examples.  We also seek to understand the practices and why they work, exploring the science as well as the philosophy behind them.

During the practices you either sit, stand or lie depending on the exercise.  And in between the exercises there is the opportunity for discussion, sharing and questions.  Please contribute as much or as little as feels right for you.

In addition to learning about mindfulness and meditation, you’ll also experience a relaxing and restorative weekend.

Mindfulness and meditation weekends take place in the Cotswolds in Cirencester and near Kirkcudbright in Scotland.

“Amanda you are a lovely teacher and bring practical yet spiritual light to your teaching, easy to follow and fun too.  I really enjoyed the whole experience.”

What is mindfulness & meditation and how does it help me?

Mindfulness is being in the moment (or being present) and knowing what’s happening while it’s happening.  Bringing non-judgemental awareness to the present moment.  So, we can be mindful in all aspects of our lives.  In order to meditate we must be mindful, aware of mind and body.

Mindfulness and meditation have been scientifically proven to have many benefits and we’ve included a few below.

  • Reducing stress and anxiety
  • Improving our ability to focus and concentrate
  • Managing anger and difficult situations
  • Teaching us to respond rather than react
  • Managing pain
  • Improving our communication
  • Creating feelings of calmness and relaxation
